Help! I have 2011 Avalanche LTZ with the towing package. the only option I dont have is the Intergrated brake controller. Is it possible to buy the parts at the dealer and install them my self?? I would rather not buy aftermarket prodigy controller. Can anyone give me some direction.

im guessing its possible, but according to that they may give you some flack about it or it wont even be available for purchase. after market p3 is like 110 on ebay and is simple install on your truck. either way i just think there are a few wires to be hooked up near the fuse box

Yep we do them all the time. There'* wiring cut off and taped up under the drivers dash, I believe there'* 5 wires but you only use 4.

Oh and don't forget to hook up your feeds under the hood which sends your 12v and your power for the brakes. One is on the chassis harness on the drivers side frame rail, basically right under the master cylinder area. The other is taped up between the underhood fuse block and the fender. One hooks up to each one of the studs on the fuse block. They may already have the brake one attached from the factory. Also make sure both fuses "STUD 1" and "STUD 2" are installed in the block.

Is there anything else I will need to buy besides the knee bolster (so the contoller will snap in) , the actual controller? I was told I would have to buy a new module that is boltet on the frame above the spare tire.....

I like the P3 but would rather not have it at my legs all the time.
