Are there two different struts for the impala I have a 04 SS and I put new struts on but had the wrong size tires (225/50R17) just put the O.E. size on (235/55R17) and noticed the tire is a hair under the strut I checked on rockauto and I see where they have struts that say special handling package, police and taxi ,16" wheels, 17" wheels and so on

you get the base model struts or the ones for bigger wheels?

there where base fe1 with soft ride, i think the ls was fe2 and i thought the ss was fe3 not fe4 could be wrong. i think the monte ss had the fe4 suspension, does it say that on your pro tag under the trunk lid?

Yes its a FE4 that'* what'* on the sticker in the trunk and its dealer confirmed there saying the struts are identical in looks but the stiffness is different but on tock auto it looks like two different struts I just need someone to confirm that there are two different looking struts
