Default CAI for 2012 Silverado

Hi everyone,

I am considering installing a Volant CAI with Powercore filter on my 2012 Silverado 5.3

I am wondering if it will cause any issues with running lean or anything else? As much as I would like to get it tuned as well, I'm just not comfortable doing that 4,500 miles into the 100k power train warranty - not worth it to me just in case.

Any input would be welcomed, just want to make sure it doesn't cause any issues that could lead to long term issues. Any one have anyt experience with these on a 2012 yet?

As long as its installed correctly, you shouldn't have any problems. It'* only designed to introduce colder air into the engine, VS the engine sucking hot engine bay air in.

If you're really worried about the warranty, go the dealer and order a GMPP intake from them and have them install it.

Otherwise buy any one that you like online and install it yourself. Follow the instructions and there won't be any problems.

Cars/trucks computers are very good at self adjusting when you add things like intake and exhaust. You don't have to re-map the thing until you start replacing almost everything on the engine.
