hi Ive been searching for a diy for an ac compressor for a 94 buick century3100 v6 with out any luck .Could someone please post a link . Thanks in advance! PS I haven't posted much here so if I Am in the wrong spot , any help would be greatly appreciated!

i wouldnt consider a compressor to be a diy job there are some specialized tools and regs you need to follow to do it. you could do the physical exchange yourself but you run the risk of misdiagnosing the problem and or not replacing everything that needs to be replaced. also there are things that should be cleaned before putting it back together.

Thanks for the reply, and don't take this personally, but I don't live in New York State, I can buy a compressor at my local parts store , or amazon or a thousand other places, and I can install it my self,I can also buy freon and charge the system my self ! they mite put you in jail for that in NEW YORK but not in INDIANA! btw GO GIANTS! Are you looking to replace yours or jut repair it..The way it sounds you want to replace it.There are poper procedured that must be taken to have all the freon extracted from the system and i would advise they be followed.After the system is empty its straight forward.Unhook the lines elec plug in and belt unbolt it bolt the new one on hook up plug and lines and belt then recharge.

Ok it has a bad clutch , if it still had freon in it I might just try and replace the clutch . You guys do realize that freon leaks out all by its self sometimes right?

yes i do but if its in there still it needs to be extracted properly is all..

freon does not leak out by itself. if the clutch is bad thats one thing, but normaly if the compressor goes bad you need to clean everything out there could be chunks of stuff in the filter, dryer, oriface, etc....you also have to change the oil and the regs are the same everywhere im sure since i got my cert while i was in OKC
