Default fuel filter help

So I'm still at ropes end with this. I can't figure out how to get the quick connect off the fuel filter of a 99 malibu 3.1 here'* a pic of the fitting

it has 4 tabs going all the way around. and no white tabs to be found

There is a special tool, actually theres 3 or 4 in the set.
They are made of aluminum, and are coloured for each size, blue, gold, blue etc.
Try Snap On, Mac, etc.
The tool opens like a pair of scissors, with a different size on each end. The tool slides in between the fuel filter and under that black fitting and releases an inside clip that enables the fitting to pull apart. Just make sure that it is clean under those 4 tabs as that helps the tool release that inside spring.
When you insert the tool, push it under the clip and slightly turn tool and filter oposite ways and it should seperate.
P.*. There are no white tabs on this connector.

Yes there are no white connectors. I will look into the tools. Just seems liek there is no space to fit a line tool. Thanks I will get on it.

moved to it'* proper Mechanical Section. General Chat is for items that affect all platforms and "General Chat". It really helps the GearHeads, others with ownership of same/similar Models, the Forum regarding search bots, and our own internal search engine when we keep things in order. Thanx.
Problem was/is specific to the malibu
