00 SSEi fuel pump swap
Pull the carpet out of the trunk to gain access to the fuel pump hatch
Remove the nuts holding it down (10mm)
Unhook the fuel, evap lines and electrical connectors
If you have a compressor or can of compressed air, blow the dirt off the top
Remove the snap ring holding the pump in the tank
Wiggle and lft.
Use vasoline on the new o-ring to help it slide into place.

Hey bill thanks. I'm changin the pump as part of my attempt to resolve a P0171 issue. Hear you're a bit of an authority in that department. Decided to change all vac lines, injector o-rings, and check egr tube. Buddy had a new pump in bock that he wasn't using so I decided to go ahead and replace that to. Any need to replace fuel pressure sensor, or is it a part of the fuel pump? Any other suggestions thoughts are welcomed.
In your model/year I believe it'* part of the pump assembly. I'm not quite buying that it'* the pump, but heck..if you have one and it'* as easy as an 00+ ... go for it. Hope it does the trick.

Yeah I didn't think it was the pump either, but like I said its just a matter of convenience at the moment. Hoping its as easy as a vac line leak. However I hear a poor seal around your LIM can cause a similiar problem. You may recall my recent accident, anyways car was left tilted sideways on a hill at about a 45 degree angle for about 4 hrs. Later on I coulda swore I saw signs of moisture around the LIM as if coolant perhaps had seeped out from it sitting sideways. Makes me think that leak is maybe the culprit if I'm not imagining things.
Ehhhh that really shouldn't happen either. But uh.. maybe it is time for LIM'*. You know you are right near Paul J aka PRJ. He'* quite the mastermind about these motors.
