Ever see a starter do THIS??
Determining the fuel pump was my problem, excessive cranking caused this to happen to my starter. Was just replaced back in Feb. of this year. Advance didn't want to honor the warranty, but after talking to the manager they did. They blamed me for it, said I beat it with a hammer. I think that is why I got the refund, because the employee accused me of breaking it. That'* a no-no in retail. Besides, most of these guys are just wannabe mechanics working in a parts store.

yep had the same thing happin on my 13.5:1 350 in my 84 camaro ended up being the tooth pitch was wrong on the starter just barley but enough that that high comp motor ate it up and spit it out
