I went looking for the Edit button in its usual spot, but it'* gone. Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen it since the change to GM Forum (though I haven't had to use it until recently).
Is it gone for everyone, or just me?

Someone still found a way to abuse it. As of right now there are no talks of bringing back the edit button. This was not done to spite the members, but was necessary. If you have posts that need edited, that is what the moderators are for. Let one of us know and we will get it all fixed up for you.
Ya I noticed this too after being on the site a bit more than I have been in the past few months. Gotta proof read my posts a bit better before I post now lol..otherwise I end up with 2 or 3 posts in a row.

The edit button will not ever return. And it'* not just a "supposed" abuse, it was widespread. And part of it very damaging as we went offline 2 years ago.
A) Forums are an internet archive, we want what happened and what was said. It is our property.
B) People get pissy with each other, flame, then one or both have second thoughts and hit the edit button while still pointing their fingers.
C) Certain members including GearHeads have had emotional issue'* and quit the Forum. But not until they came in here (usually late at night) and pulled down informative posts, pics, links, and "How To'*. Again this is our property, freely given by them, to help all other members.
D) This happened when the former Staff left, to an extreme. And we lost alot of data, and the entire old Tech Info Section.
I know alot of us would like to rewrite things, or say something a little different. But the security issue and what we have had to go through to recover things (Somethings we will never recover) leaves me steadfast about my ruling on this. I will mention here as I have many times before, If you have something you really feel would be better changed, PM ymmot04 or Sawgunner and they will do it for you. This courtesy does not extend to misspelling. They have enough to do and FF comes with spellcheck. If your not adept at the Kings English, I would use it.... I do.
