what do u think of this? Worth it?

I think that'* totally cool, however, I have a few concerns. Number 1, a keyless entry for a 2000+ needs to be done with a tech2, so that'* a dealer operation. Number 2, if your car has a VATs, does this new key have the VATs chip?

Switchblade style keys SUCK!

Have one for the wife'* Mazda6. Half the time the key is stuck inside and we have to bang it against something to get it out. That'* the main reason I hate it.

Also the PASS-III thing "should" be inside the remote housing, as that'* where it is on my wife'* key. It'* the only place it could be placed.

Id Rather Get it Directly from the manufacturer rather than some off the wall place looks like it would be a pain in the *** to get it configured.

I like it, I would call or write to see how they cover all the issues. I imagine you would have to take it to a dealer to program the VATs? I can see Mouse'* complaint but that could have been caused by accidental abuse(or the fact it'* a Mazda, hehehe)

The Pass Key III chip is inside the handle of the key itself, it is a tiny RFID (Radio Frequecny ID) chip that gives off a certain frequency, there is an exciter ring around the ignition cylinder that gives off a pulse to get a signal back from the chip

you can do some pretty cool things with RFID, I want to have a system that will unlock my car when I wave the key past an RFID reader that I will place somewhere behind some glass so I can walk up to the car, wave the key past a certain area and unlock the car, maybe the same with lock but I haven't figured it out yet

Yep. my new Prius doesn't even need you to do that. No key required whatsoever. Just an FOB remote. You walk away from the car, it locks itself. You come back and touch the door handle, it unlocks. You get in, press the brake, and hit the power button and go. There is a little failsafe key that pulls out of the FOB if the battery were to go dead. Only time it is needed.

I really love it going to town and getting things here and there. I put it in the little fifth pocket of my Jeans and no more fumbling. Good to go, and go.

My cousin has that on her Camry, gotta love RFID, technically you could integrate that into a Bonneville and still use your factory key but just keep it in your pocket

my dad'* Journey is the in-between the key fob has not metal tip on it, just a rectangular part that fits into the ignition cylinder, has a metal key in case the battery dies too
