1995 Bonneville Update

You have been waiting for an update from me.
Got my 95 Bonneville all put back together. Found out that the one wire in question - must of been a ground wire.
Oh! and by the way. My 1995 Service manuals finally came 'today' - (after my car is back together) of course. But to continue...
Tried starting the engine. Wouldn't start. Sounded like there was a lot of compression working against the engine. The opposing compression stopped it from turning over and then would not catch. Found that I had two ignition wires backwards. Looked at my diagram I drew up and corrected the error.
Well...tried starting the car again and it was the same or a little worse. This time I looked in the service manual I got at Advanced Auto (Not a real Service Manual but a good help) and found that my drawing was not right. So I switched out another two ignition wires and turned the engine over. Va-wallah
Talk about a smooth running engine! (Like Butter). That 3800 was talking to me. You could hear it whisper and when pressing the accelerator somewhat - you can tell it has plenty of power, even though it'* not a turbo charged engine.
Decided to take it out on the road. Thought I had enough transmission fluid in the tranny, but I was wrong. I had to ad some. I was wondering why at times I lost power to my drive train. Took care of that by adding some more fluid and it certainly is a runner.
Now comes the break in period. I had been careful not to over due it. I plan on running this Bonnie for about 50 miles then changing out the oil and oil filter. I want to make sure I get rid of any metal shavings that may be there. Then I will be getting the transmission fluid changed out and changing out its filter - (a must). Then comes the alignment.
The rest of the stuff I can do on the fly; i.e. clean the upholstery, clean the trim, wash and polish the exterior.
The front end feels nice and tight. That is because I put in new CV axles, tie rod ends with new ball joints, and one inner tie rod end. Glad it'* done. Tired of working on a cement floor and sometimes on my back.
I had forgotten how nice my Bonnie drove.
I had first joined this club in 2002. That is how long my car had been down. Actually before that. This is now March, 2008. I didn't realize it has been all that time.
Well fellas. That is the basic story. I will have pics in time to come.
I want to thank all those that have given me information and input form the questions I had asked.
Now to read the Service Manuals - LO.L.
When all else fails - read the instructions.
But I really can't understand why it'* still short - I cut it twice!
I'll be back,
John

I will try to link you up but I don't know my way around on this forum. I normally choose a new topic on the General Chat and post my information that way. I am not too savvy when it comes to linking to different things and getting on the right avenue.
I'll see what I can do.
