for the intense stat, do i need both the Thermostat O-ring Seal and Thermostat Gasket or just one of them?

I belive you need both of them, one seals the thermostat, the other seals the housing. You will also need some gasket sealer. This will only be a few bucks at some place like autozone.

Actually, I beleave you only -need- the Oring, however I dont think it would hurt to do both.

Now, that is taking in to effect the gasket dont break when removing it. For the price, it'* worth just getting a new one.

on his car there is no gasket, just an o-ring

And a gasket is a very good idea as the LIM and housing age, and begin pitting.

This debate can go on for hours. Yes, it came OEM without the paper gasket, and yes, for the price, it'* very good insurance for replacement. Especially if you run DEX.
