Default Transformation of another ZillaMotorsports GenV

This one goes to Pmom/Pdad (gets installed here in a couple weeks).

This should be a crime, punishable with a slightly shorter sentence than a Gen2 M62 crime:

(remember my thermal analysis work on SC temps determined the inlet as the biggest problem)

On to the work. Outlet coming along nicely:

Knocked off all the sharp edges, and polished so nothing will stick to it later and creat hot spots

Inlet coming along, final work to come later after the EGR block cures:

Further work just for cleanup and sealing later:

An EGR delete (blockoff) was requested for a future intercooler option (like the last GenV I did), so I roughed things up for good adhesion and filled it up:

The next time any member here sees this SC, it'll be black.

So, probably a n00b question, but what are you using to fill that hole?

Also, that is some really interesting work! I'm constantly amazed by all the work you do to help out everyone here at BC. This forum is too awesome for words.

Once you are done, you should check with PDad to see if he wants the case coated by www.thehighspeedlab.com.
I am considering this as I am about to send my bare core rotors into them and may send my extra case in also for the same coating on the rotor chamber, inlet and outlet.

The case will be coated by me within a few days. He'll be here on the 6th for install. The wrinkle coat has more than proven itself in heat transfer/cooling and durability.

Your coating the outside -I'm talking about the inside.

The GenV is already zero-clearance on the inside after the abradable coating wears.

I'll save this for when my rotors and case are wore a bit more. Coating looks good to go now.
So is it $100 to coat the rotors and another $100 to coat the inside of the case?
Seems pricey to me :?

That'* the correct pricing, and it'* not an abradable coating to improve efficiency, either.

At least not as far as I know. It'll be 100k miles before this cherry GenV needs that.

(referencing a question above, that'* JB Weld in there.....same as I used on 2000SilverBullet'* GenV EGR-delete last year).

I just posted this, but I guess it didn't go through. Two quick questions:

I've seen you make reference in your posts to a cleaner "CSC" that looks to do a dandy job cleaning up superchargers. What is this stuff? It costs me $20 to hot tank each one I rebuild, so if I could save some money, that'd be sweet.

Also, I just recieved a bizarre core supercharger from a customer. It was formerly rebuild by... FLOZ.... and he (I assume it was him) stripped all the factory coating off the case and rotor plate. The nosedrive is fine. I can't sell this unit, so I can't give the guy back his core charge... unless! I got thinking about using the unit myself. Do you think the wrinkle paint'* cooling efficiency would be improved when applied directly to the bare aluminum case like this? As upposed to going over the factory coating? If so, would it be worth stripping the nose drive too?

CSC is castrol super clean. But beware that if you leave it on aluminum too long, it'll start to corrode it. Timing is everything.

I noticed no difference in my testing over bare aluminum or the OEM coating.

Toss the FLOZ. You can get a good core for 100 bucks, which is less than re-coating by high-speed labs or any other place.
