Default tint issue

i called Wheel Dynamix in natick mass.
i told them i wanted my car tinted to 20% and he said it wasnt possible. he told me that my car already had solar glass (which i understand) and that they dont make tint other than 20% 35% and 50% so if i got 20% tint it would actually be tinted TO 15% and i think that would be too dark. any advice? when people here say 20% does that mean their car is actually tinted TO 20% or has 20% tint on it?
ahhhhhh i wanted to ge tit done b4 sunday

that was exactly the nature of one of my previous tint tickets. In Minnesota, we are allowed 50% on all windows, so I had 50% installed at a local shop.

I got pulled over and when the cop tested my windows they came up as 39% because of the stock tinted windows. I was pissed to say the least.

this is how "dark" my tint was

i think that 20% would work
the only thing that you might wanna check into is
your local window tint laws
cause in illinois they dont allow it on the front doors and the windshield
but alot of the cops dont inforce it
anyway i think you need to find another shop cause i have seen a car identical to yours
with 15% on the back three windows and 30% on the two front doors :?

the laws in massachusetts are 35% all around
nonetheless, i am ignoring that law.

i would liek to have all my windows tinted TO 20% rather than 15% so i dont know...maybe its jsut the type of brand of tint they use? i dont know...

anybody from MA...aaron? gumball? know of any place to get my windows tinted?

thanks

In wisconsin its 30% on the rear'* and 50% on the front. But the cops in my town are so cheap they don't have testers so I have it at 30% all the way around.

If you are worried that is going to be to dark... it wont. you will see clearly out the window. But if you are worried that you might get a ticket then the only way you can check is to go out & ask every one you see with dark tints. Because in some counties, they dont inforse that law.
For example: I lived in Miami for more than 10 years, all of the time with 5% in every car I owned. I got stoped for bunch of diffrent reasons, & got a bunch of tickets, but never one for the tints. Then I moved to Puerto Rico, & took both my cars with me. In less than a moth I had tickets I both cars for tints. I had to remove them.
But the point is that you should check in your town.

As you can see here I have 20% tint on my windows, which actually makes it more like 10-15%. It'* dark!

20% is how dark the tint is. It will always get darker when put on. Because of the factroy tint on your windows. On my truck i had 5% and when i got my ticket it was tested at 2%. The number on tint will always darken when applied.

If you are going to disregard the law, that extra percentage shouldn't matter. Tint that dark is going to look sweet, and won't be the difference between getting a ticket or not. I only know of one place that is reputable (in Billerica) but it'* expensive. Maybe ask on a local forum (nepontiac.org has a lot of MA guys).
