Halo 3 Xbox Live problem

I just played my first Halo 3 team slayer. WTF takes so long to get a game when there'* 32674 people on here?

NFC, that always happens no matter what, and when its ranked, they match you up with people with the similar ranks, so that can take a while too.

30,000 people are in slayer.... but likely 1/3 of those people are IN game.

After that, they match people of similar rank and internet connection, filtering through and finding teh players can take a bit

Ok, I get a message that flashes for just a moment. It goes something like this:

It might just be xbox live I have that same problem with all my games but im not sure. Xbox has been really slow and laggy this month probaly because of xmas and stuff

Yeah, I was on yesterday, took FOREVER for games to get loaded up. Didn't matter which game either. Somebody was saying that they're cleaning up the system or something. I dunno, normally it'* way faster.
