Default 2006 Lacrosse DTC

I bought a 2006 Lacrosse at the end of October. Put just 2k on it. (It has 25200 total) I was driving around town and the Check Engine Light came on. (The car was at the dealer yesterday for a steering noise) anyways I drove to the dealer they were closed. I went to a friend of ours that is a mechanic. He let me use his scantool on my car. The code that was stored was code P0446 Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit-vaccum detected when vent was open. He said sometimes that code will come up. He said to clear the code and see if it comes back. It will usually come up after 2 engine cycles. It hasn't come back but now I am worried. Is this common problem?

Being a new car, it could be as simple as the gas cap was not tightened properly... other times it occurs when there'* a vacuum leak somewhere. Here are a couple of previous topics discussing it:
