Planning on doing one or the other before winter. Which would yield a higher overall benefit? Only reason I havn't jumped on the PCM is because I can't find anyone with a Snap-on or Tech II for a CASE learn and the dealers around here I wouldn't trust with my go-kart.

Insurance is due in November. Rather save a bit. I know where you're coming from though, because they are decently priced.

if it was me I would do the shift kit first due to the known fact that the trans are the weak llink. and with a cookie cutter pcm sometimes KR goes up and is not as good. my theory is protection before power. that is why I am still on a 3.5 with my mods. I figure you can't go wrong with hard parts.

the way i see it is it is easier to dial in a tune if you have all the parts you are looking to add to a point to maximize the benefit of the tune and get it to the full potential. that is why I have done all mine in stages so to speak and have not dropped to the 3.4 yet. My philosophy is better safe then sorry

I may be wrong, but the PCM is more for getting the most from mods like rockers and ported exhaust manifolds. If you don't already have those mods, there is nothing to get the most of.

I vote Shift Kit for the same reason as other posters.

I think the Intense PCM is beneficial even if you're modded to the level Kyle'* car is. Mine felt noticeably more responsive and at the time all i had done was a Fenderwell and a 180* thermostat.

dhp powertunr can do a case learn.

After you pay for a PCM burn and a case learn you are already at 1/2 the price of a powertuner....

or go a little out of your way and look up a member with a tuner and some knowledge buy a case of beer and get a custom tune then enjoy the beverage responsibly if you are of age of course
