I got a quick paint question. If I wanted to paint my interior black would I still have to use acetone as a prep or could I just spray some adhesion promoter and then use the spray paint?

yes definitely clean the surface.

you might not want to use acetone, its supposed to dry out vinyl and plastics, and supposively will lead to cracks (not certain on validity of that, just what ive heard)
you would probably be fine using hot soapy water, and a rinse.

I'm just gonna get the vinyl spray. I'm going to get some white carpet and put plastic over it. I seen a black interior bonneville at the junkie and ever since thats all I have been thinking about. I hope it turns out looking like OEM.

do I need to add a clear coat? If so is it before or after painting?

i would say no to the clearcoat.

but for future ref, clear coats go on last. clear coat is still paint, just with no pigment.
