is there a way to make it so the back windows go down more than half way??

not enough space. bad engineering.

but I could have SWORN that the 04-05s go down all the way? Or at least 85-90%

Only half way down for the back in 05 as well, but it'* not a car I carry anything more than a laptop or suitcase in the rear of.. With all the electronics goodies stuffed in there besides whats OEM, I wouldnt want any weight bearing down on it.

I was under the impression that windows of this nature were designed to not roll all the way down as a bit of a safety feature. So as to make it a bit more difficult for youngins to escape and whatnot.

Thats just what I always assumed, I thought they were designed to not roll down all the way.

I think the real reason is the rear wheel well (cuts into the shape of the door.)

But the safety feature thing sounds nicer

That reason does however make more sense. I wouldnt call it poor design, you would have to have HUGE back doors in order to fit the full window down.
