Default Finally fixing my A/C

Alright, so I know something'* wrong with the electrical system...

because it'* keeping the freon in the system, yet it says it'* loosing it. It'* kept it since I bought the car, and I turned on the a/c with my home-made switch and it worked fine. I wanna loose the switch; it'* ugly, lol.

For those of you not familiar with the switch in question...

There it is!

So, what could be causing this problem? Any guesses?

have you pulled the codes from the ECC

have you checked the sensor for Freon

if the AC works with the switch, the best thing you can do is get a 92 FSM, and start tracing wires, and what controls what.

maybe your ECC HU is bad.

Yeah, I pulled the code. It was a 48, which is long term freon lost. Ok... It must be really long term because the system still has freon from last summer

Yeah, I guess I'll have to get an FSM finally, unless someone with an FSM can help me out...

Oh yeah, and how do you check the sensor and where is it?

Hiya Pete... (next time take your weed bag outta the ashtray before taking the pics )

My first thought would be a sensor has gone bad. I agree with Pat on getting an FSM or find someone willing to wlak you through it from their manual. Our systems only have a couple switches/sensors to test. Bad part is you probably have to remove the freon to change the sensor.

I like to display my weed for all to see.

Anyways.. I found a good deal on a FSM on ebay, so I've got that covered. Anyone got any pics of the sensors? I'm guessing I'll have to take the dash apart or something , but hey, I had to do it at one point or another...

All the sensors are in the engine bay <~~~ Pete at that statement.

IIRC one on the AC compressor and a couple up by the canister at the firewall.

Pete, I don't get it. What does the home made switch do & why is it needed? I missed something.

lmao, it'* directly connected to the A/C relay, so it turns on the a/c without the controller. It'* really ghetto.

You don't want to bypass any protection features in your A/C system if I'm understanding the home made switch correctly. Doing this could create more problems.
