did anyone compare the dorman intake and insert to the orignal gm unit look like the insert is differend for the pict i see here and the one i have here http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...ick/insert.jpg
Sorry firebuick, in the other thread I overlooked that you had linked up a picture.
On the OEM Delphi UIM insert runner, the "full pipe" section is longer, while the "half-pipe" section is shorter (though the overall length may be the same).
Could you post a photo of the inside of your Dorman UIM?

i was talking about the sleeve i made were the egr heat the plastic and sure i will wait before touching it since its differend i just hope to get the same performance than a stock one i will know because im testing before and after at the dragstrip

its both its repair in regard of the egr but im always looking for improvement that y the porting of the LIM and the modified runner of the upper are topic that im watching . if i can help just feel free to ask
Although everyone may not agree, I like to size the sleeve used as a heat shield for the upper so that it just covers the plastic and does not extend upward into the airflow. This allows the top of the reduced diameter stovepipe to be cooled by inrushing air. If you extend the sleeve, you reduce the cooling effect on the hottest part of the system. Also, it is a good idea to keep the wall thickness of the sleeve as thin as practical. That way there is less mass to retain heat against the plastic and a greater insulating gap between the hot pipe and the sleeve.
