My '02 SE has 160,000 miles on it now and I've started looking around for a replacement.
Problem is that none of the newer cars fill the role the same way. I need a car that I can put 100 miles on per day and travel with the wife and 3 kids during the weekend. I specifically picked the car I've got because of the split bench in front and the roomy seating in back. The newer models that are supposedly in the same class have no leg room in the back seat and rear door windows are at neck height. What have y'all seen.

Why not just keep your 02? 160K on our drivetrains is NOT a lot.

Get a diesel quad cab? They're good for over 200,000k, and are pretty fuel efficient now. They do cost a bit more because the blocks are much stronger and almost all diesels are turbocharged nowadays. I actually sat in a 2007 VW Rabbit, and its pretty darn roomy... I'm not sure if you're expecting 3 in the rear though.

A newer Bonne would be ideal. But if you're looking to change the Impala seems nice.

It'* just hard to beat the comfortable ride in the bonne. Unless they go back to making oldsmobiles again :(.

There are other makers out there (ok stop the hate mail). If you are truely looking for suggestions we need to know a little more. like is gas mileage a big factor to you ? How many would u like it to seat, tow anything ? Safety features u MUST have ? More of your needs are wants would be good for anybody to give u recomendations.

WOW! 160K in an 02! My bosses work vehicle is an 03 GMC Sierra 6.0L. It runs non stop and has 130K on it and I thought that was a lot. If you don't want a 05 Bonneville with low miles (which I think you should), then get a 6.0L GMC or Chevy truck. 90% of my bosses trucks' miles are towing over 5,000lbs. It runs like a champ and like new. I drove it with 500 on it and with 125,000 on it. Seems to drive exactly the same.

I've got a 97 Ford f250 7.3 turbo diesel crew 4x4 for towing with 208,000 miles on it. With mods I can push 25 lbs of boost, for a big pickup it hauls nicely. Then I've got a '97 Suburban with 180,000 for the family hauler. My bonnie is my daily driver for work and used on occasion for short family trips to town and visiting, so I'd like to get upper 20'* for mpg'* and fit 5 comfortably. I have to admit I haven't seen a newer bonnie, but the rear seat in the Impala'* is almost worthless if the driver wants to sit normally and I'm only 6'2" 215lbs.
