Default Stability control problem.

My friends mom'* car is a '00 SSEi, and she'* been having a problem with the service stability system light kicking on randomly. On the freeway, she'll have the cruise set, then the light will kick on, and the cruise will kick out and her speed will decrease pretty quickly. It'* been in the shop and they can't seem to figure out the cause. Any help would be appreciated.

Knowing what codes exist if any would help out. You could do a pre-cursory check of all wheel speed sensors to ensure the electrical connectors are clean, secure & in place on the hubs.

Can't get the code. The "sevice stability system" only comes on for a few seconds.

Mine was doing the exact same thing and it was a bad steering wheel position sensor. It is located above the steering shaft
