Default 4.3 Liter engine question

Does the 4.3l have a intake problem like the 3.8l? or would it just be a bad head gasket if my friend just found antifreeze in his oil? I'm not a mechanic but I did try to look at it with him last night. It doesn't look anything like the intake on the 3.8l to me. btw this is in his S10.

no they do not have the same problem a the 3800 with the UIM. this would be just a bad gasket someware, the 4.3'* rarely get broblems like these, i know my old one never did, and still hasnt had any problems and its pushing 1/2milliom miles

get it fixed up, she wil be good to go for a long time to come if you treat it well

I've owned 3 of these engines. Do a compression check first. If it'* good, and nothing obvious shows up, start tearing off the top end until you find the problem gasket.

ok, so it'* not a head gasket automatically but could be.

I think a head gasket would be highly unlikely. A compression test will tell.
