Default These cars are TANKS!

here'* the damage pictures of my brother'* Bonneville from when he hit two trees with it after spinning out. The accident was caused from two blown rear shocks. When going over bumps the car would "jump" to one side and was very unstable. I figured something like a sway bar was at fault, but I was wrong, it was the REAR SHOCKS that caused the FRONT end to be very unstable. Who woulda thought it. anyways, these are the pictures of where the front end clipped a tree, spun the car around, and finally, the car came to a stop after the rear end hit the tree at around 20 MPH. The bumper itself seems to be fine, but BOTH rear fenderwells are completely shattered. I guess the impact compressed the bumper/fenderwells and caused them to fall apart. Right now the bumper can completely be moved left/right, up/down by using your hands. It feels like it'* barely on there!

One problem that has me a little worried is that the rear end of his car is HIGH. It looks like it has a lift kit on it. There is literally around 5" of gap between the rear tires and the quarter panel! The ride doesn't seem stiff though. Makes me wonder if the ELC sensor was damaged or if a control arm was damaged when the car took its offroad run. Notice how high it is to our SSEi in this pic. My brother'* SLE is on the right. Sorry for the bad quality pictures, these are from my camera phone.

after being hit quite hard and not having any bumper support or quarter panel damage, I'm convinced.

Hans..you said in your thread that the quaters needed to be fixed. :?:

Custom.. there'* a good chance that the rear quarters did get bent a little. It may be tough to see.
