I need to reschedule the court date I have on Tuesday (6/6/06). What sort of reasoning should I use? WIll the courts grant reschuedling based on the reasons, or are the usually pretty stiff about it?
I'd tell em straight up that you do not want to go to court on 666
but yeah they are pretty damn stiff from what I have seen..family member dying perhaps...life threatening injury or other life changing/threatening events.

i figured i could always use the "car broke down" excuse, but that'* kinda lame. a friend suggested i tell them i refuse to go to court on 6/6/06 because it'd be "against my religious beliefs".
just go to the court date, lol dont be so freaked out by this 6-6-06 thing. the only thing thats gonna happen is a movie is going to come out playing of peoples fears!
good luck in court

Why would you need to reschedule because of superstition?
Only thing I've ever noticed with people trying to reschedule court dates this close to the day is it pisses off the courts.

whoa whoa, this isn't being rescheduled because of religion or superstition. this is being rescheduled because of personal scheduling conflicts that can't be changed.
