Tire size on my 03 SSEi
I just bought an 03 SSEi with Chrome wheels. My question is this...The original tires are still on the car GY RS-A'*. I would like to add a little meat to it. How big of tires can I run on the original wheels (7" I think) without affectiing the speedometer?
My research shows 255/50 x 17 should be a direct replacement. Any comments?

Yep, that should keep your speedo. relatively close. 690.3 vs. 686.8 mm.
A little over an 1/8" difference in diameter. You won't notice it.

alot of us with the 17" wheels move up to 255/50-17 tires.
i had 65k on my Michelins (235/55HR17) darn good tire , just wanted a wider tire and the BFG'* G-Force T/A KDWS only set me back $132.00 (US) a tire. the BFG'* have the same treadwear rating (400) as the Michelin'* so i hope to get about the same mileage. the 255/50-17 tire has the same diam. as the stock tires just a little wider. the car looks good with the wider tires and they dont rub at all, GM should have offered the 255'* as a option.
