Default What is an upper intake failure????

I need to know specifically what happens when the upper intake fails and what happens to the engine itself. Thanks guys I have never heard of an upper intake failure so I am curious.

In a nutshell, it is when the plastic thing on top the engine stars leaking antifreeze into the engine. If you start losing coolant faster than normal, or if you notice antifreeze in the oil (this will show as white creamy stuff on the distick)

A common problem for the 3800 series II engines.

I'm 19 years old and this is my first car. It is a White 1992 Bonneville SSE
Judging by this line in your sig, you're immune. In fact, you may not even have a plastic upper at all (started in 92 1/2), and even if you did, this problem affects 95 and newer L36'*. Not the L27.
