The bonnie yesterday at a stop light, my mom and me where in the car about to go get something from somewhere, when I gassed it from the stop it just reved, thank god it was mostly down hill to the off ramp, sunday night not allot of trafic, pulled to the side emergancy light on, tried downshifting to d, 2, 1, nothing worked. Then I turned the car off, turned it on and put it into OD worked fine for a little bit, then as I was getting on the off ramp it started those high revs and would not catch gear, so we pulled over, turned car off turned on got up the hill crused for a while, did this the whole way home except for a few blocks over I figured the doing that would breat the damn boat so I got out and pushed it uphill, whatever need to practice my pass blocking any whoo, now it is sitting int he garage helping collect dirt. Any suggestions?

can you get a hold of a scan tool? see if you can borrow one from autozone. check for torque converter slippage. (that is my best guess)

Check your tranny fluid hot. Drive the car around the block if u can, safely, until its warm, leave the car running and make sure it isnt low on fluid.
Also pay attention to the fluid color, should be light red/pink, and not have a burnt smell to it.

Hmm the tranny fluid A? Well than I will have to tell my dad about that, he called my cousin who is a mechanic and he said he would look online to see what he could find, but why would trany fluid deal with my clutch sliping? Which just so happens to be what he said would be the major problem with it.

because the if the Fluid is black that means that it got really hot...and that is reaaaly not good for a trans.....It can lead to a slipping trans, worn clutches, and bands,also friction material in the fluid

An automatic transmission operates on fluid only. W/o the proper level of fluid in the transmission it will simply not work or will not work properly if overfilled. The shifting into gears occurs by fluid transfer and valvebodys.

Please check your fluid level, color, texture and smell as mentioned above. With that information we can help/suggest further.

Sounds like what happened to mine. When it got warm, the tranny just let go of any gear it was in. I ended up getting a full rebuild, but I believe it was the torque convertor that put the nail in the coffin.

Thanks, mom hauled the car down to auto place today by tow truck without me knowing so I should get a annalysist by tommorow of the things that are wrong. Thanks again guys for helping post when I know more....
