Default What maintenance at 43k and check my tread....

I've had my 2000 SLE for 12k miles....it now has 43k on it. I suspect that nothing has been done to the 'ole gal.

1) Should I just go through the manual and perform all of the suggested mainenance for up to 45k?

Tires are Goodrich Eagle RS-A P235/55R17. Driver'* front tread is visibly worn more than the others. (see pics below).
2) Seems like I need an alignment - agree/disagree?
3) Should I rotate these tires or get new? NY winters are tough...I don't want to lose it and bang her up. Don't laugh because of the penny...it'* there to show depth.

Yes through the manual and do what it tells you for that amount of miles. Wouldnt hurt if you wanted to do a tranny fluid & fliud change so that way in 7K you dont have to do it.
others will chime with other things 2.

GET NEW TIRES!!! if you want, keep the backs if in good cond. they can be handly spares for anything. get all 4 new!! not just the front. Penny idea very smart!! not one will/should laugh!!

Turn the penny over, If it doesn't come up to Lincolns' head, It'* illegal to drive on in Texas. Your tires have cracks so definatly replace them.

Also, what PSI are you running? Your wear seems to show it'* a little high.

RE: 255'* instead of 235'*...would that affect the mph? (like going faster/slower than the speedometer says you are?)

RE: PSI - I'll have to check again...but 5k miles ago they were at whatever the door sticker says (I think 32?? Can't remember). Tread doesn't even come up to Lincoln'* hairline on the one tire...time for new for sure!

5K ago? You're supposed to check it a little more often than that... I do it everytime I get gas... Let me see what normal people check it at...

EDIT: NHTSA says once a month.

255 is just a wider tire it wont affect your speedometer. It will help braking and traction all around for that matter.Like pontiac said wider is better.
