Default Trunk Leak

Hey does anyone have an idea what might be wrong with my 96 Bonneville, the problem is that i have a leak somewhere in the trunk ( I believe) but everything i checked is sealed i even had the back windshield resealed but it everytime it rains my trunk gets wet. I tried laying in the trunk while my brother hosed the car down but i could not find anything. If anyone has had a similar problem maybe you could help me Thanks.

some possible areas would also be the spoiler bolt holes and the tail lights are known to sometimes leak

might want to post year and trim level in your signiture. If you have a sunroof, then the rear drain might be disconnected. That'* the issue on my 93 SSEi.

Best thing to do is figure out...where'* the worst of the water? Is it by the tail lights?

Could be a leak or disconnected drain hose on the antenna, or you might have a rust-through problem around the wheel wells, but the most likely source is the taillight gaskets. The three studs that you pull in to seal each taillight gasket are set in the plastic of the lens. On my '95, all six of these were broken from someone turning the nuts way too tight. I was able to reset the studs into the lenses with Duro plastic welder epoxy, and got a seal by resetting the gasket on the lens after cleaning both and adding a strip of 3M strip calk to the gasket surface that fits against the metal opening.

Good luck. I know this can be frustrating.

my rear passenger carpet padding is soaked. I will have to look for those holes. Although it seems to have gotten wet w/o me driving it.

That has happened to me... but it stopped. Don't know why, but I'm not complaining.

Did you remove all the interior panels from the trunk while being hosed? The water may be coming in where you can't readily see the source of the leak.
