Today has been a very bad day. First my co-worker almost got hit in the head when a huge flourescent light fixture fell from the ceiling (luckily she moved quickly) and then a 3 year old boy left a shop next door to my work and ran out into the road and was hit by an ambulance. I was one of the first out the door and saw the paramedic scoop up the boy and put him in the back of the ambulance. The driver asked me to shut the passenger door of the ambulance so they could race off to the hospital which is only 2 blocks away. I have that vision of the boy burned in my mind. I am shaking and very upset about this. We heard the thump and then the mom screaming " Oh NO." I am almost scared to drive home after all the misfortunes that have occured so far today.

I know how much stuff like that sucks. Thanks to my years as a cop (and my time in combat), I have images locked away in the back of my brain I hope none of you ever have to see.

And they do tend to stick with you for a while, especially when kids are involved...

Dude. Pray for the kid. Have you been able to find out any status? It makes you heart just sink doesnt it. Hang in there.

That would be Dudette, and I found out the kid has a broken leg. That is all the info I have now but I think he will be okay.

No problem. I found out the boy just has a broken leg and a nasty bump to the head, he is still in the hospital. It was the ambulance drivers 1st day on the job and he is now thinking about quitting. There wasn't anything he could have done- the kid ran out between a big suv and a large lincoln.
