Default GXP Horsepower Update

Has anyone heard anything from our "experts" about upping the horsepower on the GXP'* ? Seems like it is taking forever!

They have some work to do.

Suprisingly, there isn't even a K&N replacement filter available for the GXP to my knowledge.

A nice induction system will help i'm sure. That engine uses a lot of air...

I wonder how much a PCM can do for it? We'll only know once they open it up.

They do have a K&N filter, as I have replaced mine with one. That was one of the first things I did, the part number was given to me by someone on this site. It was from a cadillac application, if you want the part number I can post it for you?

I just hope they come up with something and let us know soon!! Also, Ty from DP is working on some things as he has time, but I have not heard anything from him in awhile.

I work for Scott but not for Intense and I have the other GXP. I believe that something is in the works but it is a lower priority right now. I know all the 3800 guys will welcome the latest Intense offering, a complete intercooler kit. I would not expect anything in '04 but Scott has surprised me before. Scott did dyno the GXP earlier this year and the results were a little dissapointing :( . But as Scott said there is plenty of room for improvement

Do you have a pic of the K&N setup you can post? What is the part number?

Yea, the car only had about 1000 miles on it if I remember right (was a few months ago) and It ended up pulling some pretty low HP numbers. I don't remember right off but I want to say 240-250 at the crank.

I will get the part number tonight and post it. No pics, it is just a direct replacement for the stock air filter. It does look like there is a lot of black plastic that could be done away with under the hood, too much restriction. But I will wait until someone fabricates something, I don't want to mess up the computer with extra air.
