Nascar style exhaust on n/a car?
i don't know if this is right or if this has been covered in the millions of post i haven't gotten to (lol) but on my 98 bonne sse ,if it has a 2 1/4 exhaust ,what i was thinking was start off with the 2 1/4 crossover pipe to high flow cat to 2 1/2 exhaust pipe to the 3" f body duel outlet muffler.any ideas or help is appreciated!!
A 98 SSE should have 2.5" exhaust, just like the SSEi. SE'* and SLE'* typically get the 2.25" exhaust.
Sounds like it would work, and sound pretty good, but I agree those 3" outlets may hurt you. Most SSEi'* don't even do that after several mods, and we have significantly more exhaust flow.
Larger crossovers are available. You might consider that, a pair of headers, then a 2.5" system with whatever components you want.

see from my understanding the reason for the step up from smaller to the bigger size was that it was supposed to give more power through all rpm ranges from low to mid to high.i was just wondering i seen them do it on a harley on biker build off.and the guy who built the exhaust built exhaust for nascars.thanks willren for the info and not to sound like a kiss_$$ but good job i've seen you answer alot of posts and i read how you dealt with some of the vendors.thanks for looking out
Has anyone tried a single free flow muffler? I know the sound won't be the same but, the stock look would be retained. I read on another post that our stock exhaust dosen't have much breathing problems. I don't know anything on this matter. Let'* talk Horses.
