What'* left?
My 1994 SE just crossed 176k last week. It looks like I'm driving this at least another 6 months. After that, I may keep it around but treat it mor like a toy. The body'* in decent shape and I like it.
However, the next few months will tell. I've been short on funds for about 3 years so as my income has come back to normal, I'm able to spend about $300 every 2 weeks on getting this back in shape. I don't want to do too much, but the problems I'm trying to correct need done to stay on the road.
Here'* what I've done in the last 2000 miles above the usual rotation and oil change:
Trans. Fluid Flush
PCVvalve
O2
Plugs and wires
IAC Valve
Cooling System Flush and Fill
180 Thermostat (and another Flush and Fill)
Fuel Filter
Rubbed it down with Maguire'* Mirror Glaze (I love that stuff!)
Why I'm thinking it won't make it:
I've got the standard Idle Lunging...
Ditto the OD 2000 RPM Shudder.
Cat. Converter is toast.
I'm stalling infrequently when a load is applied but only with less than 1/3 tank.
It sure feels better than before all the replacements and repairs, though. I'd like to drop the fuel tank and try fishing out any plastic fragments and replace the fuel strainer bag. If it didn't cost nearly $400 to replace my $65 Catalytic Converter, I'd probably do that. Maybe if I can find Exhaust Clamps I'd be happy with, I'll try it myself.
I figure the shudder is from the Torque Converter Locking which it seems I can't really do anything about. That could explain the lunging, too, no? I did the PCV last Friday, the Thermostat on Wednesday, and the Plugs and Wires today. Not enough time to really know how well they've helped. Any suggestions on what to plan on doing next?
Once I get something more fit for camping, I'l lprobably add a HP Intake and see about getting the engine an overhaul.

Where did you purchase your new high-flow Cat.?
Mine seems ok, but with 132k on the car, it can't be much longer. Since I have access to a lift and a welder, it would be an easy repair.

If I find the magnet missing from my Camshaft sensor investigation, I may just do that. The cover will be off and I'll not want to go back there.
The what'* next list filled itself in, though.
I replaced the Ignition Coils, used some gas cleaner, switched to Shell V-Power 94 oct, and added seafoam to the oil and ran another can through the intake.
It'* starting to feel like the car I remember 8 years ago.
My wish list for the next few months is this:
Struts
Cosmetic patches (window seal, dings and scratches)
Cat
Tires
I'm not really looking to go to much beyond factory, but while I'm working on something, I'll go ahead an spend a little more to make it as good as I can. Since I'll still be saving money over a new car or having someone do it, I can justify a few dollars here and there.
