Default Fixed my fuel pump problem.

Some of you may remember a post i made before the BC crash about my fuel pump. My car has been dying when i stop or brake hard when under half a tank of gas. Well I finally took my gas tank out today and found what I expected: the strainer screen had fallen off of the fuel pump.

Next time i take the gas tank out i'm definitely going to run the car out of gas first!

I have a 93 SE with the same problem. And with my new RSM slotted rotors it has become a bigger problem Did you have to get a new strainer screen? I read somewhere that there was an updated part that is supposed to avoid this problem. How hard was it to unhook the gas tank?

It is a big pain to get the tank out. The good news is you don't need many tools: a metric socket, flat screwdriver, and jacks. You've got to jack the car up pretty high and then it still is a squeeze to get the tank past the exhaust. The fuel lines on the pump are probably frozen on too. No, i didn't get a new strainer cause when i stuck it back on the pump it appeared like its gonna stay this time. I think we have the updated strainer because I know the ones on the 92s were shorter.
