Default HUD?

Ok, so I see everyone talking about HUD, what the heck is "HUD" and what does it do? it seems as if this is a big deal for bonneville owners.

HUD = Heads Up Display

for 92-99 it projects the speed on the windshield

for 2K+ it projects speed and radio station info on the winshield

Other cars like the corvette have all kinds of info projected through the HUD such as RPM, speed, shiftpoints, radio, amung others...

They're really cool, and the unit itself is relatively cheap, but the dash pad is not.

So far (up until this weekend) there has only been one swap. But I'll be the second.

well that doesn't seem as cool as I thought it would be, is it really that useful to put one in? because it doesn't to me.

Umm... you get to see the speed that'* right there on the dash, projected less than a foot away?

but you can look down at the speedometer, which is right below your line of sight. But i'm not one to argue, because everyone has their opinion on different features on a car, and features in general. But now I feel much better that I know what a HUD is.

It'* a safety feature that prevents accidents when you look down at your speed.

HUD doesnt SOUND very cool, until you have SEEN it. First and only time I had ever seen it was in a GTP at a dealer that I was looking at. Its one of those things, that once you see it, you'll wonder how come every car doesnt have it
