Default Adding Heated Seats

I bought my 01' Bonneville SSEi about a month ago. It was a great deal ... so I knowingly bought it without heated seats :( Love the car anyway The car has everything else except the CD changer, which I don't really want anyway. I want to add the heated seats, but want them as factory like as possible. I am going to buy the center console with switches, but need to figure out the rest. Has anyone else done this ??? The install part doesn't bother me, but if anyone has any pointers and / or part numbers I would really appreciate it. From reading here it looks like others are in the same boat.

Thanks,
Jim

there are kits from pfyc.com for about $100 a side. i'm sure you could somehow wire them to the factory switches if u buy that panel u are talking about.

the kits do come with switches though.

The factory ones aren't just a high and low setting though. I believe the module under the seat switches the different elements on and off, and I think the factory switches are momentary switches (press once for low, twice for high) ...... not just toggle switches like in the kit so that module probably controls that as well. From what I have read the back part is two separate elements also. I have not looked in the rear fuse box to see if it is wired there, but I did not see the wiring in the console so I doubt it.

Welcome to the forum. We need pictures. I am an ex GTP guy also. I loved my 99 red GTP. The momentary switches in my SSEi are press once for high heat and press twice for low heat. The switches were also in a different location on the 02 and 03 models. Mine are under the climate controls. Good luck with your installation.

I have the factory schematic for the seats if you need it pm me your email and I'll send it off. You will need not only the seat heater elemnets and console switches but the control module as well. The kit may be a better option than stock as I have replaced mine 3 times now on the drivers side and once on the passenger.

Thanks for the welcome. I probably won't get any pictures until the weather changes a bit more. It is pretty grey outside with rain and a few snow flakes. :( Love your picture !! I have the 2003 wheels like yours waiting in the garage for nicer weather I like the switch position as in the 2001 because I like the cubby hole. The cup holder thing doesn't bother me much, although I wish there was better storage for sunglasses and / or more CDs.
