Default Insurance: Good News!

Ok ok, I know, its a shock, but my insurance called me back with some good news for the first time ever.

I turn 25 next Saturday, and it seems the Quarter century mark is the lucky number (short of sliding a ring on some girls finger...lol...I dont think so!) Anyhow, I also FINALLY have my final test in graduated licensing, so thats a price break. And and...I now work 5 kms from home, so my annual distance to work is less the 10 000 kms per year.

Here is how it adds up

Insured currently : 1996 Diamond White Aurora with 145 000kms.

Liability ONLY: $272.61 per month

Starting March 6th 2004

Liability ONLY: $201.45
Liability and Collision with $1000 deductable : $242.15 per month.

PERFECT..finally...a break and my car is FULLY covered...*sigh*

More for less!

I got a letter in the mail from my insurance carrier saying that the financial stability of the company was in doubt. If my insurance co. goes down I'm going to be pissed, I get such a good deal now.

WOW insurance is expensive as hell there,
Im 17 with a clean record, and i pay 196/month PLPD only.
My parents pay 60 dollars a month on there 02 Rodeo, it has Collision on it as well.
I guess it makes more sense to pay more in a larger city, i mean Red Deer is at 75,000 people lol.

State Farm here in Illinois recently (i.e. last week) announced a slight reduction in premiums, due to lower claims in recent years. Allstate was asked if they were going to lower their rates to match, and they said No.

Guess which company _I_ have...

Chit, I just got my bill as my renewal date is March 23rd. My rates up to then will/have been $112.xx US per month with a $1,000 deductable. Now I just got my renewal and they upped my rates to 135.xx US per month. Now I gotta call them and ask them why. I only have 1 ticket in the past 2.5 years and that'* all that is on my record. Pisses me off.
I'm in Minnesota and have State Farm and am wondering if the rate drop they got in Illinois is just for Illinois or if it is nationally.
Anyhow, ouch, and congrats Jim.
