The cobra is also Supercharged & Intercooled & DOHC. I would hope it could beat a N/A Pushrod engine, even with the 1.1L disadvantage. As much as I dislike Mustangs, if you want a NEW performance car, it is the best deal for the money. 390hp, 390ft.lbs. $35k. With $1-2k in mods you can be putting out 400+RWHP. And just like an L67, the cheap mods make a huge power difference. You put a smaller pulley on an engine with a bigger blower than the L67, and a factory intercooler, and you are going to get some serious power gains. A pulley, intake, and exhaust would really make that car fly.

That said, I would rather mod the crap out of an LS1, LS2, or LS6 and embarras the crap out of a Supercharged Cobra, but thats just me.

I will say however, that if I were to buy one of the Chevelles, I would definately mod the crap out of it when I got it, because mid 13'* is definately embarrassing.

I'm driving a Chevy right now, and have got to tell you....that was one of the WORST photo fakes I have ever seen. The next gen Monte Carlo is rumored to be RWD and fast as %@^!!. 2007? Maybe? I'll just keep throwing the $$$ into my 3800 until then and get myself into the 12'*. There is one out there right now with 388 HP at the fronts. Ouch.

That cover definently looks fake. But Im sure if they do come out with a Chevelle it wont be faster than 13'*. On another note. There is a kid with a newer Cobra that is running in the 10'*, and he only spent $1200. The new Cobra is definently the only muscle car left for cost.

Well I think it'* about time GM gets their **** together and makes a high performance car. Not everyone can afford a GTO. Just my own personal opinoin. Anyone agree?

There'* more to a car then a motor, which is why i drive a bonnie, and not a firebird at the moment.

Ok fine, GTO = Mustang. GTO is a DRIVABLE car. It'* trunk is huge, and it'* got a very nice interior, one of GM'* best. It' handles great, better then any mustang, and many people haev agreed, it'* one of the easiest cars to handle at the limit. The mustang can't touch the GTO'* handling, the SVT cobra R is the only one that can Hand our *** to us. The seats in the mustangs are kinda squishy where they shouldn't.

Now to **** you off, (j/k) compare a c5 to a SVT Cobra R. Compare the quality, speed, handling of a car. A corvette is basicallty a supercar, that'* relatively cheap, and effective.

Back to the GTO. This is the base GTO mind you. Now they can't give them more power then the vettes till the c6 comes out, which is why you don't see a Judge Version. When you compare the tuned Judge, vs the tuned SVT Cobra R, then you'll have a comparison.

You can't get more then a GTO for less then $30k from anyone. If you do, you're going SRT-4 route, and sicking a big engine in a compact car. FWD is not performance.

Look up the pontiac solstice. Hopefully you'll see the */Ced edition.....
