Default 95 SE...blown head gasket, price is right, stay away or not?

Seller says it still runs fine but has overheating issues, His mechanic told him its a blown head gasket, He doesnt want to mess with it. Price is under 1000, new tires , he says body is excellent. Its 200 miles away, so I havent seen it yet. I can put new gaskets in the engine, anything else I should be aware of? Besides the plastci intake LOL

Stay the hell away. I can almost gaurantee it'* not a head gasket. That failure is extremely rare in the 3800. It'* almost certianly an upper intake failure. If you don't feel like fixing that, don't buy it. If the coolant and oil mixed, and it'* not been driven for awhile, the lower engine parts (including bearings) have probably already started to rust.

I don't mind fixing it. He claimed that he just found out this week and stopped driving it. It would be a spare car for us, so I don't mind going thru the engine if I had to. Of course the price would have to be REALLY right on the rest of the car
