Default Plug wire resistance and replacement recommendations?

I broke out the Fluke Multimeter and am getting ready to test the plug wire resistance. If I might ask, what are acceptable resistance ranges per wire length? I'm not sure if they are 7mm or 8mm or whatever they may be. Also, what brand/gauge of plug wires would you all recommend?
