my bonnie is officially dead...she blew and ignision module, and i cant afford to get it replace. not only that but when the mechanic got her running he saw signs of the engines soon aproaching death. there are also alot of other minor things that are stoping me from reviving her. :(

but in all she is dead. ill repost later when i start parting her out. if my brother doesnt rape the car of evertying good, ill probably be selling the following parts on ebay if anyone is interested:

altinator
front rotors
starter
tires?
spoiler

ill repost if i actually do sell these items.

i cant really afford a new bonnie at the moment, so im going to be carless for about 3 months [unless i can get some assistance from my parents]

i'm probably not going to get annother one though, as much as i loved that car i cant afford the upkeep and the gas. i'm looking for a good 2.7 tacoma or a 3.4 tacoma. definatly a truck. not only can i make it look bad *** but i need the room to lug my guitar equipment. not to mention iv always wanted an 85 toyota pickup since i saw that one on back to the future when i was like 5! now is my chance to get one!!

i am going to have annother chat with my dad tonight [maybe he wont be so pissed off this tme] and ill see what he wants to do about it. but as of right now, i'll probably be parting her out tomorrow, if anyone is interested in a part let me know.

maybe for the hell of it ill take the heads off just to see how bad the inside looks!

The 89 is a great car for sure. Its my first car, so, I'm a little overprotective. I suppose its something we learn over time that it is always not necessary to go looking for problems. Just let the car be and enjoy it!

I still think I overpaid for the car ($2500)...but it was a car that was in the family and I know the history and maintenance of it.

There is a guy on my street (I don't know him at all) but he has a 91 SE, and its in great shape as well. He babies it too....its nice, his is rusting more then mine is, and he drives it pretty hard, but otherwise, its great looking. They do have a "solid" look to it

Still, mourn the loss for Hypnos and the 88LE, hopefully when the money situation improves, you'll be first in line for a newer one.....

There are a few for sale in the Buy/Sell forum, have a look....

dude, the ignition went out in my 88 Buick this summer and it wasn't that expensive to repair! On my car the ignition and the coil packs were bad, and WITH labor it came to being $120 to replace. that really isn't that bad at all...

well the mechanic said it would be aout $250 for a new one. so since i couldnt afford it i told em to take it out. they also informed me that my engine was about to blow! and ill trust them on that cuz they know i dont have the money to pay them to rip it apart so i doubt they would tell me thta just to make money, and i know the exact moment when i killed the engine. all i was doing was getting on the highway and it started freakin out, makin fucked up noises, and the tack got stuck at a certain rpm reading and wouldnt move for like 10 min. after that the tranny kept downshifting and upshifting at random. so yea, shes dead.

too late to bring her back, i already stripped her down this afternoon, she is done...time to go find a nice toyota tacoma!

wow. That is unbelievable. :( I don't think I've ever heard of a Bonneville, or any H-Body for that matter die at only 80,000 miles! Did you really beat on that car or something?
