Doing both involves PCM, harnesses, mounts, etc., if in fact it can be done....

Previous car was a 2.2 non turbo....on the highway, 34-36 mpg....

Present vehicle has 1.4L turbo.....approx same...

Well, the fact that your coil fires ok on the other two coil circuits, I would say there is nothing wrong with the connections in the harness.......best way to check them is to go to a GM parts...

Sounds like the infamous intermediate shaft knock.......but everything should be checked out, like tie rod ends, bearing plates, etc....something that should have been checked during that...
