I would check fuel pressure both warm and cold. It's possible that the pump is getting weak and putting out the pressure needed to start when warm, may be an issue.

Likely the piston contacted the valve. Fixing isn't cost effective. No one should install a 205K mile motor unless they have no money and labor is free. That's why I replaced it.

That's right. At 205K miles with a few mods on it... the motor said g'bye on the way home from work Thursday.

I undo the bolts on the master and let it flop near the strut tower to give you a little more clearance on the transmission selector. It's not needed, but honestly...
