Default 1998 Bonneville Oil Pressure Gauge Sensor

Oil is leaking from the "Fuel Pump Switch/Engine Oil Pressure Gauge Sensor"
I ordered AC Delco # 19244519 and should be delivered tomorrow. What type and size socket is needed to remove and replace sensor. The existing sensor appears to have many sides, not a typical six sided socket. Thanks for any help or info.

Not sure what size, but it is a standard 6-sided shape that will fit a standard socket. I actually prefer to change mine by jacking the car up, removing the front right tire, and using an open end wrench. You can do it either way, but for me it seems easier to get at through the wheel well.

I am sure someone will chime in with the correct size, but I know a normal socket (or wrench) works fine.

And by the way, its not a fuel pump switch/oil pressure gauge sensor, it is just an oil pressure gauge sensor. Not related to the fuel system.

Its a little awkard to get to, but not a difficult repair. Try if from below, and if you are having a hard time, try through the wheel well.

It is a 1-1/16 inch socket/wrench.

For some reason the special "oil pressure switch" sockets don't fit our sensors, so you have to use a standard socket/wrench.

I find it easiest to do by jacking up the car, removing the front passenger wheel, and using a socket wrench with a 3" extension and a deep well socket. Takes me about 15 min this way.
