wheel bearing ?

2006 Montana has wheel bearing starting to make some noise. who makes the best replacement bearings? at 270,000 mi should I throw in a new cv axle while I have it apart? who makes the best after market axles? thanks

I like Timken myself, it is what I put on my 96' Park Ave.
Since you will have it apart it would not hurt to replace the cv axle considering how many miles it has on it, but honestly if the boots have never failed, then they should be fine leaving on there till they actually fail, just use anti seize on the splines when you put the new wheel bearing on, that will make it easier to remove the wheel bearing in the future if the axle ever fails.

If you do decide to replace it anyway, CARDONE SELECT has decent rebuilt axles for like 54.00 each

How many miles are on your struts?

all the axles are rebuilt and i havent seen them last as long as the oem ones, so i wouldnt invite trouble. like he said do yourself a favor and anti seize on everything and it will e easy to replace one if you have to

X2 on the Timken. In my experience they are the best.

wheel bearing 2

struts are original believe it or not! still rides decent for the miles. I did notice the huge gap in price from the ac delco to everything else. wow! will give all the boots the ounce over. the roads here in mi are taking a pounding from old man winter! will be lucky to get through it with minimal damage on the six vehicles in the family. thanks guys! stay warm!
