Call me crazy, but I am kinda disappointed in the power output of the l67. I really expected the car to throw me back when I got on it... a lot like the Turbo Grand Prix does.

The GTP was just barely spinning the tires when I mashed it, and it seemed like it took forever to climb through first gear. Even my na3100 can spin a set of 225 60s.

My TGP on the otherhand, will instantaneously spool to 11psi and spin the 245 50 16 fuzion zri'* with no mercy half a second after I launch. Then bark the tires shifting into second.

I guess you really have to mod a L67 to wake it up.

Or let up on some of the torque management programmed into it. They put that there to keep us from destroying transmissions. An L67 stock can set you back decently.... if you wanna go through the back windshield... stop over....I've got a motor that'll take care of business. Bring tires and 93 octane... you'll leave w/o either.

Mind you, this engine is stock except for the l36 bottom end. And I mean STOCK. Even the air filter.

it took ~7 seconds to hit 60... i think

some magazine measured a 97 GTP as a 6.6 to 60 car.

doesn't seem that far off to me.

Thats what we were talking about, motortrend measured 0-60 in 6.6 and motorweek got 6.9.

But look at what I found in the same article I got the 6.6 number from motortrend:

The next year, a $25,000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP coupe, powered by a McLaren Engineering-tweaked, turbocharged 3.2-liter/205-horse V-6, ran but 8.2 seconds 0-60 mph.

Does anybody spot the blasphemous errors in that statement?

second gen, turbo 3.2 GTP? this statement is all kinds of fail.

and food for thought: yes, the L36 lower gives an extra half point of compression, but you can quickly run into enough knock retard(especially on anything less than premium fuel) to take away that advantage and even run slower than if you had the lower comp slugs from the start.

Thats the crazy thing too, I had 0 KR that run. I don't know... Im starting to care less about my slow GTP and preparing myself for the real powermaker.

Tomorrow I'll begin an epic swap. I just bought a LX9 3500 who is waiting to find its home under the hood of my Turbo Grand Prix.

Slow GTP? Like I said, there'* something wrong. You base everything here off being able to spin the tires on your TGP and not being able to on your GTP. Like I and someone else have said, torque management, and then, a tune. Why do you think ZZP sells their top swap kit for L36'* with a 4.2" pulley?

you need to tune, and modify it to an extent in order to bring out the beast so to say

that looks about right for a stock L67..tune it, and start modfying it and i bet youll start being happy with that motor

trust me talk to bill boost..he will help you with your situation..just be sure to have your wallet handy..O.o
