Default Acceleration Issues

1994 Bonneville SE. Check engine light on. Engine idles and drives fine. Picks up speed quick and normal until about 60 MPH. When I try to accelerate hard the engine basically does nothing, doesn't drop into passing gear or rev up. It basically does nothing. I can feel the hesitation through the pedal, but there is no sputtering, or smoke or anything alarming, just no acceleration. I can ease it past 60-70, I just can't stomp on it to get it there. This will happen 9 times out of 10 so it'* more than intermittent but I can't say it happens every time. Before, I replaced a throttle position sensor and PCM because it was surging and dying and was throwing PO1361, PO225 AND PO321. At that time the check engine light was intermittent, now it is constant. Unfortunately I do not have access to the OBD 1.5 reader at this time.

Sounds like either a misfire, or a restriction. If it is a misfire, the CEL should flash when it happens. Best bet is to read codes, but in the absence of a reader you can start with the obvious stuff ... pull the plugs and look for any discoloration, check primary and secondary resistance on the ignition coils, check resistance on plug wires, and check fuel pressure at the rail. Also, do a visual check on the entire exhaust system to see if there is any damage that would restrict flow. Change the fuel filter if it has been changed in a while.

Unfortunately, you are shooting in the dark without reading codes.
