Problems with plastic fuel line inlet to fuel rail.

Broke plastic 90 degree inlet tube. GM 3.8 Series 2. Was thinking DORMAN 800-059. Have any members tried this fix for the fuel line? BTW I'm new here. Very happy to have found this forum.

I have phase ll in 00' camaro

You talkin about the evap line??? Or do you mean how do you remove the plastic tabs that retain it to the fuel line?? If you are talking about the plastic ends you will need the end of a trans fluid funnel about 3/4" cut from the tip (so you have the tip of the funnel in your hand). It will look like you cut the end of a coned shape straw off. Then you will split it down the middle and take this piece and jam it into the end of the line while you are trying to disconnect (while pushing the line toward the fuel rail plastic piece will unlock tabs inside. This procedure works better than any fuel line removal tools. Now if you aretalking about just popping off the plastic line (has a green test port cap and a tag that says EVAP system test port. This line requires the use of your fingers squeezing the plastic ends of the line and pulling to remove (dont go to hard but does take a little force). I have not broken one I just dropped same motor in buddies 98 camaro. same thing on my 2000 these are the only fuel lines that are plastic (unless you are down by the gas tank working on charcoal canister) Hope this helps if you need a pic or for me to show you (with a video) hit me back and let me know I have touched waaaay to money of these motors can help you if you need. have a nice evening

if you broke it, I will look for cheap replacement, but I dont think it is near as bad as having broken fuel line (I have fixed those on fuel injection) Evap system is under some pressure towards gas tank. I can hook gm scan tool up to my 2000 to give you exact #s, but If you can tell how easy these hoses disconnect that kind of tells you something. I am only saying this because I have had to replace same way, take your time use spray bottle with soapy watter to check for leaks (small air bubbles) good luck

Pipe ASM Fuel Feed GM Part # 15279854. $144 at the dealer. this is what you need full time but the dorman part you mentioned will make it a few weeks (read reviews online) I wont try that kind of fix, I suggest only temp if necessary. I go to the junk yard for lines before relying on long time fix from this type of part. i thought you working on evap. gas lines can cause DANGER!!! 79 blew up because of leaky fuel line from carb caught fire in minutes from exhaust heat. No joke dont mess with fuel line unless you are gonna spend money on decent kit like mentioned above dorman kit no more than 2 week life (realisiticly)
