Default Delay in shifting when warm

Hey guys, this is for my 98 gp gt.

Now that the weather is warmer I have noticed that shifts between 1-3 are delayed. Scanned for codes and didn't see anything. Would a shift kit help at all? This happens after the car gets warmed up and is the worst after getting off the highway and starting/stopping

I believe it will help, mainly because you will be taking the accumulator apart and cleaning it up. At that time check the O-ring seals for damage.

Thanks for the info. One last question regarding the shift kit. I've heard mixed things about them. Will the shift kit speed up the wear on the tranny? Obviously every case is different I'm just looking for a general consensus. I just want to make it last as long as possible before having it rebuilt.

130k on the car BTW.

Thanks

Because the transmission shift faster there is less wear on the bands and clutches, so in that case the trans will last longer. But that in turn puts a bit more strain on the hard parts. But those can take more abuse.

How long a tranny lasts all depends on how the car is driven. Just try to take it easy on her, she'* getting up there in miles lol. If you treat the tranny good it should last until the car dies for good.

Proper care and feeding will give you and your transmission many happy years together. That is, keep up on fluid and filter changes.

I didn't. I spent my money on a bachelor'* degree instead. Now my car'* almost done with transmission #2. (First one went before I bought the car.)

That'* a start. Change it after another 15-20k — sooner if your right foot is heavy, or you tow.
